The idea of opening a guesthouse had been brewing inside me for years. It wasn't just a vague plan — more a quiet certainty that one day I would create a place where people would feel truly at home. All that was missing was the right spot.

In 2019, Cédric and I found what we were looking for without really looking for it: a large former pasture in Gedinne, in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. A breathtaking view, a rare sense of space, a serene silence. We knew immediately…

THE TINY HOUSE — A CHAPTER OF ITS OWN
In 2020, a tiny house custom-designed for the Oasis d'Yza rolled onto our land. It allowed us to experience this place to the full even before we moved in — to feel the morning calm, the evening light, the silence of an Ardennes night. A privilege we'll never forget.
We dreamt of turning it into an unusual holiday cottage, a unique experience nestled in the heart of nature. The local council decided otherwise, and despite our efforts, we were never granted permission. It is with great regret that we have had to decide to put it up for sale shortly. It has been a wonderful companion on our adventures, and it deserves to continue inspiring someone else's dreams.
THE OPENING & NEW LIFE SPRINGING FORTH
L'Oasis d'Yza opened its doors in November 2019. Since then, we have been constantly developing this place: an orchard, a vegetable garden, a pond that attracts dragonflies and frogs, and soon some beehives. After our carefully prepared homemade jams, it will be honey's turn.

I have always loved looking after others. This is the guiding principle behind everything we do here: the warm welcome, the bedding chosen for its comfort, the breakfast prepared with artisanal produce from local producers whom we know and respect. And we take the same care with our environment: we are deeply committed to protecting biodiversity, and every decision made at L'Oasis d'Yza reflects this.
